A 24-year-old man has been charged over the death of a 10-week-old baby boy in Sydney’s west.
The infant was found unresponsive by police at a home in Bidwill around 10.15pm on Friday 13 December.
Officers immediately began CPR on the newborn before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and rushed the baby to Mount Druitt Hospital.

The child was then transferred to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition, where sadly, the boy died the following day.
An investigation into the baby’s death has been ongoing ever since, with a post mortem examination revealing the child died as a result of a significant brain injury.
Strike force detectives arrested a 24-year-old man at Mount Druitt Police Station just before 11pm yesterday.
The man, who was known to the boy, was charged with manslaughter.
He was refused bail to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court today.
