A man has been charged with murdering a woman more than six years after her body was found at the bottom of a tree in southwest Queensland.
Detectives from the Homicide Investigation Unit’s Cold Case arrested the 42-year-old man following the murder of Lainie Coldwell in Charleville in 2009.
Lainie Coldwell, 36, was located at the base of a large tree in Walter Street, Charleville on August 23 2009 with a severe head injury.

The circumstances of Miss Coldwell’s death, including injuries sustained have been forensically reviewed as part of investigations by the cold case team.
The 42-year-old man has also been charged with fraud related offences relating to insurance and superannuation claims.
