A MAN in his 70s has been arrested and charged with nine child sex offences following a major investigation into widespread historical child abuse at a boys’ home in Sydney.
The 74-year-old was arrested at Basin View, on the NSW South Coast yesterday following what police said was an “extremely detailed” investigation.
The man is alleged to have sexually and indecently assaulted at least six boys at the Daruk Training School at Berkshire Park, near Windsor, over the space of 20 years between 1965 and 1985.

The disturbing allegations surfaced during the recent Royal Commission into Child Sexual Abuse.
The man was taken to Nowra Police Station and charged with nine offences relating to six victims.
Among the charges are three counts of buggery, five counts of indecent assault of a male and one count of solicit male to commit indecent act.
The man, who police said now lives on the South Coast, was released on strict conditional bail and was due to appear in Nowra Local Court today.
