Man charged with three indecent assaults on Sydney trains

A man has been charged with three indecent assaults on trains in Sydney, thanks to eagle-eyed officers from the Police Transport Command.

The plain-clothes officers were patrolling a train from Campbelltown to Central about 8.20am on Friday 30 October 2015.

They saw a man walking through carriages towards the rear of the train, and immediately recognised him as a person of interest in an investigation into alleged indecent assaults.

Police arrested the man and took him to Day Street Police Station in Sydney’s CBD.

The man was subsequently charged with three counts of indecent assault.

One of these incidents involved a 21-year-old woman travelling on a train between Leumeah and Central on Thursday 22 October 2015.

It’s alleged the man also indecently assaulted the same 17-year-old girl on two separate occasions between Wednesday 23 September 2015 and Wednesday 7 October 2015, on trains travelling from Minto to Central.

The 55-year-old Macquarie Fields man has been granted conditional bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on Tuesday 8 December 2015.
