Man, child rushed to hospital after being hit by cars on Gold Coast

A man and child have both been rushed to hospital after being hit by cars in separate accidents on the Gold Coast this morning.

The first accident occurred just after 8.20am, when a young boy was hit by a vehicle on Benowa Road at Benowa.

The youngster was treated at the scene for leg injuries before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

Queensland Ambulance confirmed he was transported in a stable condition.

About 15 minutes later, a man aged in his 20s was hit by a vehicle on the Gold Coast Highway at Broadbeach.

He suffered a shoulder injury in the collision and was also taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Motorists and pedestrians are being urged to remain on the lookout for each other.
