Man critical after being stabbed in neck

A man is fighting for his life following a stabbing attack in Logan, which prompted a full scale search involving the dog squad and police helicopter.

Police say the 37-year-old was walking along Ewing Road in Woodridge at around 11pm on Saturday with three other people, when they passed a group of three men and two children.

A verbal argument broke out, and the man was stabbed once in the neck with what was possibly a knife or a bladed weapon.

The group then ran off and the man’s friends called for help.

He was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital in a critical condition.

Multiple police units, including uniform and plain clothes officers, the dog squad and Polair2 saturated the area searching for the men, however they remain on the run.

A crime scene has been declared at the incident location as Scientific and Scenes of Crimes officers process the scene, and an Incident Centre has been established at Logan Police Station.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any CCTV or dash cam video along Ewing Drive at around 11pm is urged to contact police.
