Man critical after getting struck in the neck with broken bottle, Gold Coast

A man’s fighting for life in hospital after he was stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle last night.

The 43-year-old man was walking along Scarborough Street in Southport just before 7.00 pm when a 24-year-old woman allegedly attacked him.

She allegedly struck him in the neck with a broken bottle, causing him to suffer critical injuries.

He was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he’s now fighting for life.

Police were able to locate the woman nearby, at a shop along Scarborough Street.

She’s since been arrested and charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and will front Southport court this morning.

we moved to Southport thinking it was a nice place to retire but it is the worse place. Politicians do not care , so much crime and homeless. This is a perfect example, can not even walk out on the street. so dangerous!

Time to move out of Southport. The local Politicians should hang their heads in shame. Also the Mayor. I have written to them about the hooning as well and they palm me off to other departments. No one cares as long as they are comfortable and eating their Lobsters.
