A MAN is fighting for his life in hospital after being run over by a ute outside a pub in Queensland.
It happened at Gympie, north of the Sunshine Coast, on Thursday night.
Police said the 22-year-old man was struck by a Toyota Hilux ute on Mary Street around 12.20am.

Initial investigations indicate the man had run out onto the road and was struck by the ute as it pulled up to pick up passengers, police said.
The 22-year-old sustained life-threatening head injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene before being transported to the Gympie Hospital in a critical condition.
From there, the young man was airlifted to a hospital in Brisbane where he remained in a critical condition on Friday morning, fighting to stay alive.
The 27-year-old man behind the wheel of the ute is assisting police with their enquiries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
