Man critically injured in crash with tractor

A MAN has been airlifted to a major trauma hospital in Sydney following a horror crash involving a truck and a tractor in country New South Wales.

The heavy vehicles collided on Henry Parkes Way about 15km east of Parkes, in the state’s Central West, about 7.45pm on Thursday.

The 75-year-old man driving the truck was trapped in his cabin and had to be released by emergency services.


He was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in Sydney where he remained on Friday morning in a critical condition.

The 50-year-old man driving the tractor was not injured, police said.

Officers from the Central West Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A crime scene was established and examined by the Crash Investigation Unit.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or anyone with relevant dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
