Man fighting for life after horror Gold Coast crash

UPDATE @ 9 August, 6.00 AM | A MAN is fighting for life in hospital after a horror crash in Stapylton.

The 25-year-old Ormeau man was driving his Toyota Hilux northbound along Eastern Service Road, when his vehicle is alleged to have crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a Suzuki Swift.

The ute then veered into a ditch before crashing into a tree.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene and worked to free the man from his car before rushing him to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

He remains in hospital with life threatening limb, chest and internal injuries.

The driver of the Suzuki managed to escape uninjured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

EARLIER @ 8 August, 1.00 PM | A MAN has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition following a horror crash at Stapylton on the northern Gold Coast this afternoon.

It’s understood the vehicle went down an embankment and hit a tree on Eastern Service Road just after 12.30pm.

Multiple emergency crews, including Critical Care Paramedics and the High Acuity Response Unit responded to the scene.

A man, aged in his 20s, was treated by paramedics for significant chest, leg and arm injuries.

He’s since been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
