Man crushed by glass panes in horror workplace accident

A MAN has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition following a horrific workplace accident in Sydney’s west.

The man was reportedly crushed by 1.5 tonnes of glass on Bond Crescent at Wetherill Park shortly before 11am.

Emergency services rushed to the scene where they found the badly injured worker conscious and breathing.


It’s understood a pallet holding 1.5 tonnes of glass was being unloaded from a truck when it fell onto the worker.

Multiple ambulance crews, as well as the CareFlight rescue helicopter were dispatched to the scene.

A team of paramedics treated the man at the scene before rushing him to hospital.

The man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was transported to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

SafeWork NSW is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
