Man crushed to death after car rolls off jack in driveway of NSW home

A MAN has died after the car he was working on slipped off a jack and rolled onto him in the NSW Hunter region.

The man, aged in his 40s, was working on the car in the driveway of his Robina Avenue home at Medowie when it reportedly rolled off the jack and crushed him on Friday.

The man was found by passers-by, pinned beneath the vehicle in the driveway.

Emergency services raced to the scene and freed the man, but it was too late.

Sadly, the man – who was unresponsive when emergency services arrived – could not be revived.

He was pronounced dead before he could be transported to hospital.

In a statement, police said there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police from the Port Stephens Local Area Command will prepare a report for the Coroner.
