A man has died after he was hit in the head by a flying piece of metal from a condom machine that he and two others tried to blow up in Germany.
The 29-year-old man was rushed to hospital in Schoeppingen, near the Dutch border, by the two other men who fled the scene of the explosion in a car.
It’s understood the incident was part of a botched robbery.

At the hospital, the two accomplices told nurses their friend had fallen down the stairs and injured his head.
Suspicious of their story, hospital officials called police.
Police claim, during questioning, one of the men admitted the trio had blown up the machine, leaving condoms and money scattered on the ground, and that his friend was hit in the head by metal as he tried to take cover from the explosion.
