Man dies after electric scooter crashes into pole, Logan

A man has tragically died, after a horrific scooter crash in Logan yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Waterford in the afternoon, following reports an electric scooter had crashed into a pole.

It happened along High Street, leaving a 40-year-old man from the Sunshine Coast with significant injuries.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The forensic crash unit is now investigating. No other injuries were reported.

Such a sad tragedy and a dreadful time for his family. But I hope it encourages the council to introduce a law for these scooters. I rarely see anyone wearing crash helmets here whilst using them and they can travel over 30kms along the shared paths. Riders rarely give warnings when approaching pedestrians from behind and if a collision occurs, people are going to get hurt, possible with serious consequences if it is a child or an elderly person.
