Man dies after losing control of car and hitting embankment

Police are trying to piece together what led to a fatal crash on the northern Gold Coast.

It’s believed the male driver died after losing control of his vehicle while heading west along Yawalpah Road at Pimpama on Friday night.

Police say the car was approaching the intersection with Gawthern Drive around 11pm, when it has crashed into an embankment.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and Police are appealing to any members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or who have relevant dash-cam footage to come forward.
