A man injured in a traffic incident on the Gold Coast on the weekend has died in hospital.
The 36-year-old was found by a passing motorist on the Gold Coast Highway at Burleigh Heads in the early hours of Sunday morning.
He was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital with serious injuries but has since died.

Initial investigations suggest the man was riding a bike before losing control and hitting a retaining wall.
The Forensic Crash Investigation unit is continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the Gold Coast Highway and Cedar Court at the time or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident to contact them.
A report will now be prepared for the coroner.
