Gold Coast man dies in hospital after skateboarding accident

A GOLD Coast man has sadly died in hospital, a month after he was seriously injured in a skateboarding accident.

Police say the 40-year-old man was riding a skateboard along Aspect Street in Pimpama on the night of Friday, September 22 when tragedy struck.

It’s understood the local man fell off the skateboard around 10pm and hit his head on the road.

He was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he spent the last month in a serious condition.

Sadly, police released a statement this afternoon confirming the man passed away in hospital earlier today.

The Forensic Crash Unit continues to investigate the incident.
