Man dies in Police Custody at Robina

The Ethical Standards Command is currently investigating the death in custody of a 65-year-old man at Robina

Police went to a Leopardwood Circuit house around 4.30pm on Sunday following a call in relation to a domestic disturbance..

Initial information suggests the man stopped breathing after struggling with officers as they attempted to take him into custody.


Police commenced CPR and called for an ambulance, however attempts to revive the man were unsuccessful.

The State Coroner has been advised and the Crime and Corruption Commission has oversight of the investigation.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
