Man dies after being pulled unconscious from waterhole near Sydney

A MAN has died after being pulled unconscious from a popular waterhole southeast of Sydney.

The 27-year-old Pakistani National was swimming with friends at the “Mermaids Pool” in Tahmoor on Friday.

Police say he was seen waving for help after diving into the water around 12.30pm.

It’s believed he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was pulled unconscious from the water a short time later.\

Paramedics had to be winched down to the rocky swimming hole by helicopter.

They performed CPR on the man but he could not be saved.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the incident and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
