Man dies after being run over by 18-wheel truck in NSW

A TRUCK driver has died after being run over by his own 18-wheel truck in a freak accident in Central West NSW.

The man was reportedly found injured on a road at an industrial site in Parkes around 10.30am on Sunday.

It’s understood the 18-wheel truck started to roll after the man parked it on the side of the road and got out.

The heavy rig rolled over the man before hitting a dirt mound and coming to a stop 100 metres down the road.

Despite the desperate attempts of paramedics to keep the driver alive, he died at the scene. His age is not known.

A rescue helicopter was dispatched to airlift the man to hospital but was turned around before it could land.

The road was declared a crime scene and examined by forensic police who will prepare a report for the corner.

Did you actually count the wheels or are you just trying to start Australians using American slang. ?
Our semi trailers (that’s the Australian term) almost never have 18 wheels, there are ten just on the prime mover.
If it’s a single trailer,it’s usually a triaxle , that’s 22 wheels.
If it’s a B Double, it’s probably got 34.
I won’t get into triple road trains, quads, B triples etc etc etc.
Don’t use American slang , it makes you sound stupid
