A MAN who decided to roll his car down the driveway before starting the engine in order to not wake up his family has died after being struck by the vehicle.
The tragic accident happened about 9.30pm last night at a home in East Branxton in the NSW Hunter Valley.
“About 9.30pm, a 40-year-old man went to get into his car, a Kia 4WD, that was parked in the lock up garage,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“It’s believed the man decided to roll the car forward before starting the engine in order to not wake members of his household.”
The man’s concerned wife later went to check on her husband about 11.00pm and found him lying next to his vehicle deceased.
Police say early investigations suggest the man may have got caught behind the vehicle as it rolled down a gradient in the driveway and struck his head on a brick wall.
