Man dies after being run over while crossing highway in Port Macquarie

A man has died after being run over on the NSW Mid North Coast.

Police said the 45-year-old man was struck by a Toyota Hilux while crossing the Oxley Highway at Port Macquarie on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5.45pm.


The 45-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for treatment.

Sadly, he died shortly after arriving.

The driver of the Toyota Hilux, a 61-year-old man, was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

As investigations into the crash continue, police are urging any witnesses who have not yet spoken with them to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
