Man dies after being tasered by police in Canberra
A MAN has died after being tasered by police at a home in Canberra.
Around 11.30am on Tuesday, officers were called to a house in Waramanga after receiving a report of a man smashing glass and yelling.
Police believe the man had seriously injured himself and in an attempt to prevent further self-harm, “a conducted energy weapon was deployed once.”
Officers and paramedics tried desperately to revive the man, however he died at the scene.
Police confirmed a critical incident has since been declared with the ACT Policing Criminal Investigations team to conduct an investigation into the incident.
