Man dies, two rescued after boat tips in NSW river

A MAN has died and two others have been rescued after the boat they were in capsized on the NSW Mid North Coast.

Emergency services rushed to the Camden Haven River, north of Forster, about 1.45pm on Sunday after receiving a report that a boat had capsized while returning from sea.

Police said two men were rescued but a third man could not be found and so officers started searching the river.

A short time later, police located the body of a 59-year-old man in the water.

Local police together with the Marine Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

A report will now be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
