Man doused in petrol, threatened to be set alight in horrifying armed robbery

A man has been tied up, doused in petrol and threatened to be set alight during a horrifying armed robbery on the NSW Central Coast.

Police say that about 10.30pm last night, a man was walking to his car on Shelley Beach Road after finishing work when he was approached and threatened by a man armed with a knife.

He was forced back into his work premises and doused in petrol before being threatened to be set alight if he did not hand over any cash.

The victim handed over a sum of money before he was tied up and doused in more petrol.

His attacker then fled the scene in the man’s Ford Ranger, which has since been found.

A crime scene has been established with police wishing to speak to a man who is described as 178cm tall, large build. He was last seen wearing black long pants, dark hooded top, a balaclava and gloves.
