Man who evaded cops on stolen motorbike snaps leg in high-speed crash
A MAN is under police guard in hospital after snapping his leg in a high-speed crash while trying to evade officers on a stolen motorcycle in Melbourne last night.
Police said they tried stopped the motorcycle on Greenbrook Drive in Epping just before 7pm, but the rider took off at high-speed.
The rider then lost control of the bike and crashed at the intersection of McDonalds Road.
He suffered a broken leg and was taken to hospital where he remains under police guard.
While searching the motorcycle, officers allegedly found a stash of drugs and a large amount of cash.
Police said the bike was reported stolen from an Epping address back in July.
No charges have yet been laid.
