The couple’s three adult sons said they were still coming to terms with their father being charged for their mother’s murder.
“It’s something that no family should ever have to go through,” Ms Edwards’ family said in a statement.
Ms Edwards was last seen alive by her husband about 10.30pm on March 14, 2015 at their home in Lawrence.
Edwards is due to appear at Lismore Local Court again on August 22.
Ms Edward’s body has never been recovered.
