Man fighting for life after being shot in the head in SA

A young man is fighting for his life after being shot in the head at Parawa, south of Adelaide yesterday afternoon.

Police say the horrific incident happened on Springs Road, about 40kms west of Victor Harbor, around 3.45pm on Sunday.

The 21-year-old victim was rushed to the South Coast District Hospital before being airlifted to the Flinders Medical Centre, where he remains in a critical condition.

A 28-year-old man has since been arrested and charged with wounding with intent and is expected to appear in Christies Beach Magistrates court later today.

Police initially believed the incident was an accident, however it is now being treated as suspicious.

The Adelaide Advertiser reports the shooting happened during a “suspected hunting expedition”.

Both men are known to each other.
