Man fights for life after brazen daylight stabbing

A MAN has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening stab wounds following an incident at a house on the NSW Mid North Coast.

It happened in a quiet cul-de-sac at Lighthouse Beach in Port Macquarie shortly after midday on Friday.

Police said crews had been called to reports of a stabbing at a house on Beacon Court around 12.30pm.

It’s understood they arrived to find a 30-year-old man clinging to life after being stabbed in the chest.

He was treated by paramedics being rushed to Port Macquarie Base Hospital in a critical condition.

Scores of police have swooped on the area in the search for the victim’s attacker, who remains at large.

The suspect, named by police as 32-year-old Ben Black, is believed to have been wearing dark clothing and was last seen on Rushcutter Way, running from the scene.

He has been described as having an average build with dark hair and an unshaven face.

Anyone with any information that can help police with their investigation is urged to come forward.
