A MAN is fighting for life in hospital with a fractured skull after being bludgeoned with a brick and beer bottle in a brutal brawl in country New South Wales.
The violent scenes played out on Green Street in Tamworth at around 1.30 on Sunday morning.
Police said they arrived to find a man with severe head and facial injuries. He’d allegedly been struck repeatedly in the head with a brick and glass bottle.

The 32-year-old man was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital before being transferred to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.
Following an assessment of the man’s injuries, it was discovered his skull had been fractured.
He was then flown to a hospital in Sydney where police say he remains in hospital tonight in a critical but stable condition.
As investigations into the brutal assault continue, police are calling for witnesses to come forward.
