Man flee’s crash to get away from yelling girlfriend

WHAT lengths have you gone to in order to avoid listening to your girlfriend yell at you?

A New Jersey man fled the scene of a car accident on Sunday night because he  “didn’t want to deal with his girlfriend yelling at him.”

David Scarpa was having an argument with his girlfriend when he backed into a utility pole in Cumberland County. The caller who reported the hit-and-run said he heard people “yelling” and then heard a bang and saw debris on the ground by the pole.

Police say the 21-year-old then took off and didn’t report the accident immediately.

Scarpa turned himself into police on Monday, a day after the incident.

He has allegedly been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving.
