Man flown to hospital after being run over by driverless car

A MAN has been airlifted to hospital after he was reportedly run over by a driverless 4WD on Sydney’s Northern Beaches this afternoon.

It is understood the 45-year-old was struck by a Toyota Prado on The Outlook road at Bilgola Plateau shortly after midday.

Police said officers were told no one was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The man sustained multiple lacerations to his leg and a possible broken pelvis.

Paramedics worked to stabilise the man at the scene before he was airlifted to Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital.

Police are now investigating all circumstances surrounding the accident.
