Man found and charged in NSW, over Qld double murder

A Queensland man has been arrested over the border, in relation to the murders of two people north of Brisbane.

Officers were called to a BnB property in Joyner around 2.00pm yesterday afternoon, where a man and woman were found dead.

A crime scene was established, along with an investigation centre at Petrie Police Station.

Queensland police alerted interstate authorities, before NSW police then tracked down a man at Berowra last night.

The 31-year-old was travelling south on the M1 in a Toyota Rav4, before he was pulled over and eventually arrested.

He’s been charged by virtur of a Queensland arrest warrant for two counts of murder (domestic violence offence) and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

There are reports the man is the son of the deceased couple.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court today, where Queensland Police detectives will apply for the man’s extradition.

The car was seized and will undergo forensic examination.

If the border is still closed how did the man get from QLD to NSW?
