Man found dead after disappearing underwater

POLICE divers have retrieved the body of a young man who disappeared in a waterhole at a popular campground in Sydney’s west.

It’s understood a group of mates were swimming at Bents Basin, 10km south of Wallacia, on Sunday morning when they began struggling in the water about 11.30am.

Bystanders rushed into the water and managed to rescue three of the men, all believed to be aged in their 20s, however a fourth disappeared underwater and failed to resurface.
