Police make arrest after man found dead in Sydney home

UPDATE @ 10.15am: A man has been arrested after a man was found dead in a unit in Sydney on Wednesday night.

The victim is yet to be formally identified, but it is believed to be the 47-year-old resident.

He was found last night with a number of injuries.

A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of the man’s death.

A crime scene was established at the home, which is being examined by specialist forensic officers.

Following inquiries, Detectives arrested a 34-year-old man outside a home unit at Botany just before 9am today.

He has been taken to Mascot Police Station, where he is assisting with inquiries.

EARLIER @ 06.00AM: Police have launched an investigation in to the “suspicious” death of a man at a unit in Sydney on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called to the unit on Namatjira Place, Chifley, at 6.20pm after a 47-year-old man was found deceased.

Police are still at the scene this morning, with the death officially being treated as suspicious.
