Man found guilty of sickening rape and murder of Sydney woman in 1988

A MAN has been found guilty of the horrifying rape and murder of 66-year-old woman Doris Fenbow.

The man, who was 17 years old at the time of the sickening attack, was arrested in 2014, after providing a DNA sample.

Ms Fenbow was beaten and raped before her Little Bay unit in in Sydney’s south-east was set alight in September 1988.

The now 45-year-old man, lived in a neighbouring unit to the elderly woman at the time of her death.

In an earlier trial, he claimed he was forced to sexually assault Ms Fenbow by two male paedophiles and said he had nothing to do with her death or setting her unit alight.
