Man brutally assaulted, found in Sydney park with “serious injuries”

A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after he was allegedly brutally bashed at a park in Sydney.

Police said the 34-year-old man was found with severe injuries at Prince Alfred Park on the corner of Devonshire and Chalmers streets in Surry Hills just after 8pm on Saturday.

He was treated by paramedics at the before being taken to St Vincents Hospital with what police said were “serious but non-life-threatening facial injuries”.

Police said witnesses reported seeing two males yelling at the man while he was on the ground before running away.

One of the males is described as being 175cm tall with a slim build and tanned complexion, while the other is described as being 185cm tall with a slim build, dark hair and dark complexion.

One male was wearing a white t-shirt, the other a grey shirt.

As investigations into the assault continue, police are urging anyone who has information, or anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police, to come forward.
