Man found stabbed in neck after fight

A MAN has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the neck at a house in southern New South Wales.

The 44-year-old was allegedly stabbed in the throat during a fight with another man at a unit block in the regional Riverina city of Wagga Wagga on Friday night.

Police and paramedics were called to the unit block on Marshall Avenue at Ashmont about 12.10am.


They arrived to find the man with wounds to his neck.

He was taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital for treatment. His condition is not known.

Police said initial inquiries suggested the 44-year-old was involved in a fight with another man, who is known to him.

Detectives are appealing for information from the public to help locate the suspect.

He is described as being Caucasian and about 175-180cm tall with a thin build, fair complexion, brown cropped hair and blue-green eyes.

Police said the man also has a small tattoo underneath his left eye.
