Man granted bailed after drugs, cash found in Burleigh storage unit

ALMOST $300,000 cash, cannabis and cocaine were seized during a raid at a storage facility in Burleigh over the weekend.

Officers from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad swooped on the facility on Saturday and allegedly seized approximately 2.5 kilograms of cannabis, 9 grams of a white power believed to be cocaine and $290,845 in cash.

Packaging equipment and evidence of drug supply and trafficking were also found.


A 54-year-old Tallebudgera man was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of dangerous drugs (with a circumstance of aggravation), possession of proceeds of drug offences and possession of things used in the commission of a drug offence.

He was bailed on strict conditions after facing Southport Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

He is scheduled to reappear in court again on May 8.

Investigations in relation to further offences and other persons who may be involved are continuing.
