A MAN has been hit and killed by a car while running from police after being pulled over in Melbourne.
Officers intercepted the man’s vehicle on Ballarat Road in Deer Park about 7.15pm on Good Friday.
While police were checking the man’s licence, it’s alleged he jumped out of his car and fled on foot.

The 29-year-old was struck by a car moments later while trying to bolt across Ballarat Road.
The man was rushed to hospital but his injuries were too severe and he later died.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and have spoken with a number of the man’s mates who were travelling with him in his car at the time of the incident.
The incident is being investigated by Homicide Squad and Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives. The investigation will be overseen by the Professional Standards Command.
