Man hit by airborne car dies in hospital

A PEDESTRIAN has sadly died in hospital, eight days after they were hit by an airborne car while standing at an intersection following a horror crash in Brisbane.

The horrific accident happened at the intersection of Venner Road and Lagonda and Frederick streets at Annerley just before 5.30pm on Monday, August 20.

Police said two cars collided at the intersection, with the impact causing one of the vehicles to flip through the air and strike a 68-year-old man before landing on its roof.

The man sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition under a police escort.

Sadly, the man’s injuries were too severe and he passed away on Tuesday, police confirmed.
