Man in hospital with bleeding on the brain after being run over in Sydney

A man is in a critical condition in hospital with severe head injuries and bleeding on the brain after being hit by a car in Sydney’s west.

The 68-year-old man was struck on Hardy Street in Fairfield at around 6pm on Thursday.

Police said a Holden Commodore struck the man as it turned right on to Hardy Street from Nelson Street.


The 68-year-old man suffered life threatening injuries.

Police said he victim sustained severe head lacerations.

He was rushed to Liverpool Hospital in a critical but stable condition with bleeding on the brain.

The driver of the Commodore, a 43-year-old man, was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

As investigations into the incident continue, police are urging witnesses to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
