Man hospitalised after being bitten by snake at Tamborine

A MAN has been taken to hospital after being bitten by a snake at a home in the Gold Coast hinterland.

The man, aged in his 50s, was bitten on the hand by the slithering serpent just before 11.30am.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.


A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the the man was transported in a stable condition.

It was not immediately known what type of snake was involved in the incident.

Gold Coasters are being urged to remain wary, with snakes on the move as temperatures heat up ahead of summer.
