Man hospitalised after jet ski explodes in Gold Coast waters

A man has been injured after his jet ski reportedly erupted into flames during a day out on the water on the Gold Coast.

According to Queensland Ambulance, the man was riding the ski through waters off Gibraltar Drive in Surfers Paradise when it exploded.

Emergency crews were called to the incident around 4.30pm on Saturday.

The man, aged in his 40s, was treated at the scene by paramedics for injuries to his arms and legs.

He was then transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
