A man is recovering in hospital this morning after nearly drowning at a beach on the Gold Coast.
Emergency crews were called to Main Beach just after 5.30pm on Monday, following reports a man had come into trouble in surf off Sea World Drive.
The man, aged in his 30s, was treated on scene by paramedics for “post immersion symptoms”.

He was then taken to the Pindara Hospital in a stable condition.
