Man hospitalised after suspected snake bite in Surfers Paradise

A man’s been hospitalised after a suspected snake bite in Surfers Paradise last night.

Paramedics were called to a private address around 10.00 pm, following reports the man needed help.

The man in his 40s was assessed briefly at the scene for a bite, however, Queensland Ambulance has not disclosed where the man was bitten on his body.


He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment and is understood to be in a stable condition.

The type of snake involved is not known.

Also last night, paramedics were called to a home in Cedar Creek, following reports a man had fallen from a horse.

It happened around 6.00 pm, with the man being taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.

There were also a number of car crashes overnight, including a two-car crash in Coombabah and a multivehicle crash on the M1 in Helensvale which both happened around 6.30 pm.

Three people were hospitalised in stable condition as a result of those.

Early this morning, a car crashed into a barrier on the off-ramp at Helensvale. It happened around 5.30 am, with a man in his 20s suffering seatbelt injuries.

He was hospitalised in a stable condition.

There was also a car rollover reported along Southport Avenue in Tamborine Mountain just before 7.30 am, with a person also hospitalised in a stable condition.
