Man hospitalised following another near-drowning on Gold Coast

A man has been rescued from the surf in Burleigh Heads this afternoon.

Lifeguards pulled the man from the water just after 1.00pm off Goodwin Terrace.

Paramedics assessed him at the scene and transported him to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

It comes after a spate of near-drownings on Gold Coast beaches, with surf conditions remaining hazardous.

Lifeguards are urging everyone to swim between the flags, and always during patrolled hours.
