Man hospitalised after lengthy stand-off in Sydney’s east

A man has been arrested after a stand-off with police on Sydney’s eastern beaches, lasting more than four hours.

Police were called to a house on Alison Road, Coogee about 8pm on Saturday, responding to reports a man was making threats.

Officers say he armed himself with knives and climbed onto the roof of the house.

A perimeter was established and negotiators were called to the scene to speak with him.

About 12.20am on Sunday, the man gave up..

He has been taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for assessment; police hope to speak with the man following this assessment.

No one was injured.
