Man hospitalised after Melbourne ‘axe attack’
A YOUNG man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition following an apparent axe attack in Melbourne’s south-east.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Malvern East just before midday.
When they arrived, they found a man with multiple puncture wounds and lacerations to his upper body.
Witnesses told radio station 3AW that the man had been attacked with an axe and screwdriver.
The victim is believed to be aged in his 20s.
Paramedics worked to stabilise the man at the scene before rushing him to The Alfred hospital for treatment.
Police are on the scene investigating.
No arrests have yet been made.
