Man in court over horrifying screwdriver stabbing attack

A man is due to face court today over a horrifying screwdriver stabbing attack on a cyclist.

Joshua Joseph Tempany was charged with attempted murder, acts intending to cause grievous bodily harm and assaulting police after stabbing a man several times with a screwdriver on Sunday.

The 21-year-old is alleged to have attacked the cyclist, aged in his 40’s on the Norman Park bikeway.

He was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains with serious injuries.

Tempany is due to face Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
